We specialise in vintage, antique, and pre-owned furniture, homeware, art, and lighting. Please read the following carefully before purchasing:

  • Age and wear: All antique and vintage items are pre-owned and will show signs of age, use, and wear consistent with their history. This is considered part of their character and is not a defect.
  • Condition descriptions: We make every effort to accurately describe the condition of each item, including noting any significant damage, repairs, or restoration. Condition descriptions are provided in good faith based on our assessment.
  • Colour and appearance: Photographs are taken to represent items as accurately as possible; however, colours may vary slightly due to lighting, screen settings, and the natural patina of aged materials.
  • Dimensions: All measurements are approximate. We recommend verifying dimensions before purchase, particularly for items intended to fit a specific space.
  • Authenticity: Where items are described as being from a particular period or maker, this is based on our professional judgement and experience. We do not provide formal certificates of authenticity unless otherwise stated.
  • One-of-a-kind items: Many of our pieces are unique. Once sold, they cannot be replaced with an identical item.

By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the condition description for each item purchased.

3. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice, but any change will not affect an order that has already been confirmed.
  • We accept payment via the methods listed at checkout. Payment is required in full at the time of purchase.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any order where a pricing error has occurred, in which case a full refund will be issued promptly.

4. Shipping & Delivery

  • We offer delivery on selected items. Delivery options, costs, and estimated timescales are detailed in our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms of Service.
  • Delivery timescales are estimates only and may be affected by factors outside our control, including courier delays.
  • Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery. We strongly recommend inspecting items upon receipt and noting any damage before signing for delivery.
  • Some larger or fragile items may require specialist delivery arrangements. We will contact you to discuss these where applicable.
  • Collection from our shop at 5 King Street, Southwell is available and encouraged for larger items.

5. Returns & Refunds

  • Our Returns & Refund Policy applies to all purchases and forms part of these Terms of Service.
  • We offer a 14-day return period for items that arrive damaged or faulty. Please contact us within 14 days of receipt at info@henhouseinteriors.co.uk or 01636 812855.
  • As our items are antique and vintage, general wear, patina, and age-related characteristics described in the listing do not constitute damage or faults and are not grounds for return.
  • Returns must be agreed with us in advance. Items returned without prior agreement may not be accepted.
  • Your statutory rights under UK consumer law are not affected by these terms.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Hen House Interiors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of our website or the purchase of our products.
  • Our total liability to you shall not exceed the price paid for the item(s) in question.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
  • We make no warranty that our website will be uninterrupted or error-free.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
